Matt Stefanishion has left Ferris State to sign a pro contract with the Washington Capitals. He had 9 goals and 4 assists for 13 points in 23 games this season before being sidelined with an injury. Stefanishion is a big forward and was an undrafted free agent. Like Nebraska-Omaha forward Bill Thomas, Stefanishion was already 22 years old and decided now would be the best time to start his pro hockey career.
St. Cloud State got a commitment from Lincoln Stars captain and Minnesota-native Garrett Raboin. Raboin will join the Huskies blueline next season. He's the son of former Providence standout Bruce Raboin.
Minnesota State got a commitment from Blake School forward Mike Louwerse. Louwerse will play his senior year next year at Blake, and then decide between joining the Mavericks in 2007, or playing a year in the USHL.
