Chicago Showcase

The Chicago Showcase gets started tomorrow. It is an event for high school seniors from around the country to showcase their talents in front of a good deal of college and junior hockey scouts.

You can find the rosters for the event here. Minnesota has a rule that players that have already made college commitments aren't eligible to go to this event. Wisconsin doesn't have a similar rule, so their team should be led by Minnesota recruit Nate Condon. Team Michigan should be led by an excellent college prospect in goaltender Adam Janecyk of Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

Minnesota sends only seniors. Other teams have underclassmen.

Get your facts straight. Wisconsin sends only seniors and has for the last 20 years.

I think anon 6:56 is confused. States like Texas send underclassmen. Wisconsin sends committed recruits. Minnesota sends only seniors and uncommitted recruits. Everybody has their facts straight, you just read something incorrectly.

How I am I reading "Minnesota sends only seniors. Other teams have underclassman" incorrectly?

Wisconsin has always sent all seniors. I'm pretty sure North Dakota as well. I think anon 4:04 is confused.

Wisconsin, North Dakota, Michigan, and a few other schools send only seniors. "Other teams [like the New York team Minnesota beat] have underclassmen." I count no fewer than 11 juniors on their roster. Can you please find me a direct quote where anybody claimed Wisconsin sends underclassmen?

"Other" in anon 4:04 context means every team other than Minnesota like a like Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, etc. It's called reading between the lines.

Read between the lines all you like, I prefer the words.

Wisconsin has the best fans in the WCHA. The others suck.

Illinois sends only kids who play high school hockey; no AAA kids; none of the Illinois kids have D1 offers
